THE BANKER

IX

July 16, 1934

IT IS the Power and the Practice of universal, impersonal, loving Service, in immediate response to an expressed or unexpressed need.

AT THE very head of this message I placed the definition of the Plateau Medium of Exchange, that basis from which we may create a money that can function twixt Plateau and earth, and thus will bridge the gap that separates the riches of earth and Heaven.

Let this definition blaze before your understanding as a flaming hieroglyph that will shed illumination on all that I say about money.

Money is impersonal and universal. Cast from your minds the thoughts of differing national currencies and of the differing forms used in other lands and places. What matter if it appears as beads or shells, as gold, silver or paper? To the one so using it, it is the nearest approach to a universal medium of exchange that he knows.

Money, in its true sense, is and must be impersonal and universal, and it is in its true sense that we would bring it into as near tangible form and use as possible.

I have urged you to realize that Power is one of the substances of Money, and I have asked you to invoke Power for your benefit. Now, I ask you to consider with me by what laws and to what extent Power may enter into money.

Is it not present in Money in direct ratio to Money’s universality? Is it not true that your money has Power in direct ratio to the size of the area in which it is recognized, accepted and used?

Then to give Power to Money would mean to give it a form which commands universal recognition and acceptance. If you wanted Money to have Omnipotent Power, you would give it a form recognized everywhere in the Universe.

Now behold again the definition illuminating the head of this Message. Is there a plane so low or so high, among devils, men, angels or gods, in which universal, impersonal, loving Service would not pass as exchange? And would not its Power everywhere
