As stated in my previous messages, I am to provide a medium of exchange to function between earth and Plateau, and I may not use the mediums of either in their present states. I need not speak to you about the present earth medium for you know better than I how misuse has perverted its meaning to men. But let me call attention to characteristics of the Plateau exchange which to earth men appears intangible and invisible though actually it is real and substantial.

Imagine an earth dweller temporarily raised to the Plateau. What does he find? He is amazed to see that everything of beauty, luxury, comfort and joy is his for the mere asking. The Plateau Dwellers vie with one another to anticipate each other’s every wish and never tire of providing everything desired.

To one still imbued with earth’s economic superstitions, the first thought is that this is all free, and that since there is no money visibly in use, no medium of exchange exists or is needed. If, in common with most earth dwellers, he retains the slightest taint of selfishness, he will gladly accept the spiritual riches, bring them to earth and devote them to the uses of the personal self. The wonderful ideas, the forms of beauty, love and use, he appropriates and exploits for self.

Even if humanity at large benefits, as it usually does, nevertheless the earth dweller who is the first recipient of the bounty fails to recognize that there is in use on the Plateau a very real medium of exchange, a money as tangible as yours on earth and which he must possess and use if he wants lasting fellowship with the Plateau people. Unfortunately the average earth dweller does not recognize this until he has barred himself from fellowship, or until death has opened his eyes.

What is this mysterious, invisible medium of exchange, that makes possible a fellowship with the gods and the inhabitants of heaven?

It is the power and the practice of universal, impersonal, loving service in immediate response to an expressed or unexpressed need.
