THE BROTHERHOOD OF CHRIST

YOU NOW know the difference between a Master Mind and the Christ Mind, and in this article we will try to make plain just what is the Great Brotherhood of Christ, the true White Brotherhood.

All occult and metaphysical students hear much about the Masters, those Supermen who are guiding the destiny of humanity, and we often hear Jesus called “The Master,” or “Our Lord and Master.” As stated in the preceding article on the Mind, Jesus was a very great Master, and there are those who know that He is the Master of Masters, the Lord of Lords, and the King of Kings.

This is because He is Jesus, the Christ, the Holy Spirit of God come down to earth in human form to show humanity what God has planned that all men eventually will be like—when they believe and follow Jesus’ teachings and pattern their lives after His life. He was the only great Teacher and Master ever sent by God to the world who was called “The Christ.” The Christ means “The Messiah,” “anointed one” (Gr. Christos), i. e., appointed and empowered by God, through impartation of His own Spirit, to become the Saviour of His people.

Jesus always spoke as one having great authority, as being sent by God, as being the one appointed and that was prophesied would come. The last night before His betrayal He spoke particularly to His disciples of the necessity of the Holy Spirit coming likewise to them, saying that if He, the human Jesus, went not away, the Comforter (the Christ or Holy Spirit) would not come to them; but if He departed, He would send Him unto them; when He (the Comforter) would guide them unto all truth; would glorify Jesus; would teach them all things, and bring to their remembrance all that He had said unto them. Then He added those mystic words, “Then ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in Me, and I in you.”

Now we would speak of those disciples of Jesus Christ to whom the Comforter or Holy Spirit has come, and Who is teaching them all things and guiding them into all truth. They are those who are allowing Divine Love to lead and influence all that they think, say and do, and have no doubts about Jesus Christ
