IN THIS article we will show the difference between the Christ Mind and a Master Mind, chiefly because there are many that think a Master Mind is always a Christed Mind.

In our preceding article on the Mind was shown what is a Master Mind, and a glimpse was given of some of its powers and possibilities. In another article in the present issue, entitled “The Sadhus of India,” are given the names of actual modern Master Minds and Adepts who have attained what seem to Americans marvelous powers; but you will fail to find in the description of these men anything regarding their Christ-like nature, their great love for humanity, or that their lives were devoted to the healing, helping and blessing of their fellowmen.

This may be because the author seems to have been impressed more with the mental powers of these Sadhus than with anything else; for we doubt not that many of them were great and beautiful souls, living lives that were devoted to their people and accomplishing untold good. One statement he made we question, and that is that “most of the real Sadhus do not care to return to the world to uplift their fellow creatures,” and that “they live for themselves.” We wonder if he was permitted to know any of the real ones, and whether his acquaintance was not chiefly with the Master Minds among them, whom he evidently greatly admired, as did most of the people.

He states that the Sadhus of India number some seven millions; then explains that “a Sadhu is a person who has shunned the material world, and is seeking salvation.” In a country of 315 million people, that would mean less than two percent of them were sufficiently concerned about their souls so that they were seeking to save them from the world, had put behind them all material things, and had gone to some secluded spot in the mountains to live.

Do you doubt that two percent of the people of America are not equally concerned about their souls, only they have learned that spiritual salvation could not be secured by practicing certain “asans” and by controlling the breath, as he claims. Instead life has taught them that salvation can be attained only by “living the life,” which means following in the way taught and shown them
