two sides—north and south. We saw others dressed in amber robes to whom we were led, when we went down the mountain-side again. Then some dressed in purple robes came toward us, and each one had in his hand what seemed like a white sheet; they stripped each one of us of our earthly clothes, leaving us naked. For a moment I wondered that I felt no shame, standing unclothed in the midst of so many people.

Then One came to our side from whose garment radiated the Wondrous Light, and said, “Be not troubled, you are not naked. Now you are fully clothed; before you were naked.” Then we found there were white robes on us, soft and caressing.

Now another Soul, dressed in white, brought a little sheaf of ripened grain, which we took. Looking around, we saw that everyone was robed in white and holding a sheaf of grain. As we stood watching these people arriving, being clothed in white and each given a sheaf, it seemed to rain; but the raindrops were like stars, or lights—they did not wet us.

Then there came from way down at the foot of the mountain the sound of singing; looking down we saw many people coming up the mountain-side and stretching away in a long line, North and South, as far as we could see. As each one reached the company among which we stood, some were robed in white robes and given sheaves of grain—but not all; those from whom they were withheld seemed sorrowful, and some murmured to each other. One, a woman, tried to take my sheaf from me, but as soon as she touched it a flame passed rapidly between us, and she was gone,—I could not see her anywhere.
