THE CITY OF TRUTH

A VISION AND A PROPHECY

“Thus saith the Lord, I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the holy mountain.”—Zechariah 8:3.

IN THE holy “hush” of the Silence my dear one and I had been sitting for almost three hours on the night of Easter Eve. We seemed to be waiting, listening, surrounded by a heavenly Peace, bathed in that luminous Light of the “Dawning Day.”

As we waited the clock struck the hour of midnight. When the vibrations died away we were conscious of a presence with us, shadowy at first, but gradually becoming clear, until there stood before us One dressed in an amber-colored robe, fair-haired, smooth of face, of medium height, not an elderly man. In his hands he held a book, which, after greeting us as “Beloved ones,” he looked at and seemed to be tracing down a page, as if looking for certain names. Then he quoted the Master’s words in John 12:32, “And I, if I be lifted up from the world (earth), will draw all men unto me.” Closing the book, he said, “Come. Follow me, and I will show you the coming and going of peoples.”

Holding each other’s hand, we seemed to leave our bodies sitting in the chairs, and following him were taken a little way up the side of a mountain, where we joined a great company of people, who greeted us with loving joy. There seemed to be other people coming from only
