The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | AUGUST 1933
“Give—My own, knowing it is I that you give,—I that am you. For the more you give of Me, the more I fill you.
“Know that I am the Source of all you are—of all you seek in life. Therefore, seek you no more outside of Me! For that you seek is already yours—has always been yours—within you. I am there! I am You! I am your life, your intelligence, your power to be and do any and all things. Let your heart’s longing then be always and only for Me, and I will make you to know the reality of this vision of beauty.”
Then came upon me a melting of self, as if into one essence, a vibrating, sustaining life-throb. In my human self was not, but was all those I love—all beauty, all sound; all thought seemed to roll into one vibrating life movement—there was no other life!
Waking, I sensed I could not live under so swift a movement, and I fought for breath, as would one drowning. But an ecstasy prevailed, so that I felt life would always hereafter seem unreal, undesired.

THE HUMAN SOUL
A plant, year after year, will improve, if cultivated, fertilized and watered, given new and purer soil, and the right amount of sun and shade.
So with the human soul.
Some plants, if uncultivated, given no new soil or fertilizing—no love or care, will bloom for a period and then finish their short career, without special notice or having given pleasure to anyone.
So with some souls.
