they had; and then I remembered that all bibles and all religions had always taught the coming of a Messiah. Their faces were shining and I knew that they would follow to the letter everything they were taught. They began singing, “I know that my Redeemer liveth, and in the latter day shall stand upon the earth.” I wondered how they knew that song; they were not English. Then I knew that every lover of Christ knows that song.
In almost every country there were those in White singing, with inspired faces and glowing hearts. Every one looked as though he had seen a vision. But there were no White Ones in Turkey, and He could do nothing with Italy. I have not liked the Pope and perhaps it was my thoughts that interfered with the White One there. There were singing White Ones in Spain and some in France and many in Russia, and very many in England and in South Africa. And very many in America.
JANUARY 2. I have just read over the above and it seems like a dream, but so does every day yesterday. It took place during hours that were set apart every day during the Christmas season. About eight hours.
A friend of ours left her body in death. During the funeral I sat near the casket. I kept looking at the spot where I had seen Jesus in the vision of a similar “death” several months ago; then I knew from personal experience that my friend was as much alive as she had ever been, and more; for I saw her there with Jesus, looking at me. I had an uncontrollable urge to get up and go to that body and tell her to get back into it, and I honestly believe they wanted me to do this; but I had doubts and I was afraid of the people.
I feel guilty about it. It all seemed so silly and they they were all acting; and I knew that she was not dead and she knew it too. Now I am afraid to go to another funeral—I might do something rash.
Do you believe that I really could have helped her back into her body? Why not? Have I not given Him my body over and over many times to use as He sees fit?
One day I looked up and saw Him a little way off and He was looking at me with such pity and tenderness; and in that strange way He has of imparting knowledge, He told me many things
