PRACTICAL WORK

LAST July, when we were asked to see Jesus in situations especially needing His Presence, I worked for five weeks seeing Him with a business man of wealth in our neighborhood. He is not a friend of ours but a man that for months had been drunk. His wife has suffered so much mental anguish that I was called upon by a mutual friend to help.

At the end of five weeks I heard that he had not had a drink during that period. I have heard nothing again about him since.

There is so much drinking here that I am seeing Jesus in the hotel lobbies and bar-rooms of the city. Of course I know not the results, but that does not matter, if it turns only one fine soul away in disgust from them, or gives him strength when needed to shun temptation.

KNOWING THE TRUTH

I WANT you to know how grateful I am to you for your teachings, your interest and your help.

A few days ago I met a friend who said, “I suppose you know what a changed person you look? You are a different woman in appearance than you were last year.”

I not only have taken on an appearance of health, but am beginning to feel more solid, strong and healthy. For the last two weeks I have been treating my family, some friends, the family cat and myself for inward irritation as disappears from my children, it having manifested on them as ring-worm; on the cat as mange, which is now practically gone, as new hair is growing; and my father has felt better in the last two weeks than in the last three years.

But impatience, cross words, and anger seem to overwhelm us all at times, and the old chronic eczema has not gone. I felt a little discouraged last evening because I had not succeeded better in letting God work through me. But afterwards I realized that the Father within has already done the work and that I must simply continue to know this and that my real body has always been perfect.
