The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JUNE 1935
to that KNOWING, until you lose yourself in the glory of it; even as did the Truth Teacher in the saloon, as related in the January issue of this magazine, who saw the Blessed One there with such reality that the usual frequenters of the place could not stay in it and it soon was emptied; and it all so affected the proprietor that he closed the saloon forever and he became a changed man.
If the Inner Workers who have dedicated themselves to Christ and His Service wish to counteract the work of His enemies, they can accomplish it in no more effective way than by doing just what is suggested above.
If two or more are working together—and we earnestly urge again that all who realize the necessity and potency of such Inner Work, form themselves into groups for just such united effort—let them arrange to meet either outwardly (which is preferable, because it stimulates and strengthens one another) or in spirit at the same hour in the Silence, and thus see the glorified Jesus Christ in the midst of any man, of any number of men, or of any condition that is not as God would have them express. And just to the extent that you lose yourself in the Reality of His Presence in that man, crowd or condition, will it be cleansed of all that is unlike God—even to the accomplishing of what will seem like miracles.
In every city there are places like Columbia Circle or Union Square, New York, where “radicals” congregate and denounce God, Christ, the Government, the Social Order and anything and anyone that does not measure up with their distorted and often demon-inspired ideas of what should be. Almost all of such are carrying out the suggestions or orders of those who are definitely intent upon destroying and undoing all that Christ has accomplished in lifting humanity to the selfless ideals of True Love and Brotherhood in the past nineteen hundred years.
Are His followers and disciples to stand aside, even if does the Government, and permit these enemies of Society, these destroyers of all that is good and true, to wreck what we have so laboriously built up under Christ’s leadership? Now that we know the Truth and have in our hands the power of Christ, it becomes our duty as His servants to stop them and render their efforts wholly ineffective, by simply calling Him forth out of the darkness of their perverted natures into the Light of the One Universal Being which we know as Humanity.
