The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JUNE 1936
This is my dream—to be able to let it flow from me as freely as it flows to me. It is coming, I know; but I was so in need of knowledge that it has taken a long while to prepare the way. Now I am ready to receive the greater gift and I feel I am able to use it with wisdom.
These years of depression have built some of us into fortresses of strength. I wish everyone could grasp these truths, but I learned long ago that too much talk and no action was wasted energy. What is the saying?—“Diffused energy is noise. Concentrated energy is silence.” I have learned to work quietly and never to talk until after the demonstration is made, and then only if I think another may benefit by what I accomplish.
Most of us when we are just beginning to grasp these principles make the mistake of talking too much and thereby delay any real work or demonstration we know is possible and wonder why we do not accomplish anything. It is not until we realize that “Silence is golden” that we begin to get real results.
It was awfully hard to do this, I was so used to flowing over when I was elated about something, but now I am getting so I rather enjoy keeping my secret or rather sharing it with my Higher Self.

GROUP WORK
I AM very happy about our WAY OUT Group. The work is going deeper than before. I sense a more earnest one-pointedness and a stronger determination to master self; also, already, I sense a greater ability to do so—a tangible expansion of consciousness, which by the way is outpicturing in a growing membership.
Perhaps this is only because these things are true of myself. But even so, if we are One—and we are, then it must also be true of them—must it not? I have so much more to give them now.
Class after class, question after question, I bring them back to the one great way, which you, in your emphasis, opened up to us last Summer in Akron—the way of a “simple, child-like, perfect love and trust in God.” This, and to look through all appearances to the REAL of everything—to God, knowing that He is always “the best and perfect of everything.”
