all kinds of hardships, lacks and limitations in the wilderness, many of them rebelled in their hearts. At first, or rather, during the first few years, while the remembrance of their former pleasures was strong in their consciousness, many wanted to turn back.

But after this memory faded and they saw they could no longer turn back, they were still dissatisfied and listened to the voice that said, “Let us make us a God whom we can see and worship and who we can have lead us at once into the Promised Land.”

We know what happened and although it is left to the reader’s imagination, we can easily believe that of the many Israelites that started from Egypt very few reached the Promised Land. Not even their leader, Moses, entered it.

It is the same today. The children of men are becoming tired of wandering, as they call it, not yet having found and entered the Kingdom. So it makes them very ready for the Tempter. They are not lost, nor will they be lost, no more than were those who followed Moses. But unless they are faithful to the Truth that they know, and keep on with faces ever turned toward and hearts fixed on the Kingdom, they will not reach it and enter and enjoy with the First Fruits of the Spirit.

So hear did many in Moses’ time get to it, that they could see its hills shining in the distance. And now, with it shining so close at hand for those who have been following with us, it is sad to know of those who have grown weary and discouraged and are seeking after other gods.

So I say unto thee again, walk with and stay close to God. If there are any problems, any anxieties, any troubles—no matter how big or little they are, take them to God. And see what wonders are performed for thee, in the name of thy love for and thy trust in Christ Jesus.
