Each day at 12 o’clock noon, we take the names of those asking for such help in the Silence of the Spirit, and “Speak the Word” for them. Many hundreds have testified to receiving the blessings of such ministry.

SO MANY write us that before a Lesson Paper comes they seem to be given during meditation many of the ideas that are later fully explained in the Lesson. This should prove to you the close connection of these truths to what your Higher Self is trying to teach you; or in other words, the true relation of this Work to the Spiritual Forces working with and directing your ongoing and that of all followers of Christ, and that you were led to these teachings as a confirmation and to have visible texts for study and application in your outer life.

Therefore, dear friend, strive faithfully to do what you are shown in the Lessons, never leaving a single statement until all of its inner meaning is clear. We are happy that you have found this confirmation and that you are being so lovingly and wisely guided.

WE ARE glad indeed that you are still interested in the Impersonal Work and are still seeking the Kingdom. You wonder if your sincerity or desire to find it is as deep-seated as it should be. The answer to that would be, is it FIRST in your heart and life? If not, we tell you that explains why you have been “almost floored” by present conditions.

We have come to the end of the Old Order and all men are being tested and proven to see if they have learned the lessons that have been taught them by our great Teacher and Master, Jesus Christ. The keynote of His teachings was to make the finding of the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness first in our lives, when all things else would be added. If instead all things being added, all material things are taken away, is not that pretty good evidence of what is wrong—of what needs to be done by those who have not yet found the Kingdom and who want the harmony, peace and abundance of good to which they feel they are entitled?

These words make it about as plain as it can be shown, and we hope that you will see it and begin at once to make your human self do what the Christ of you has clearly shown you must be done.

ANSWERING your question, the subject of “free will” has been the cause of a great deal of controversy, by philosophers and students; but try to realize that what we call man is not the human mind and personality, and that the outer brain-mind consciousness is but an outer extension of that of the soul, as the soul consciousness is but an outer extension of that of the Divine Self, and Its consciousness is an outer extension of that of God; and that God, through the Divine Self and soul, is gradually and as fast as possible bringing the outermost consciousness into oneness with the innermost; and the only way He can do this is through what we all experience.

It is true that the personality, like a child, is allowed to have its way—up to a certain point; for if the child has to learn its lessons it must first learn what is not the right way, which it can only learn through the mistakes it makes. Its free-will lies in its choice of listening to its father’s instructions or not listening—of obeying or not obeying them; but we know its father or mother is always close by watching carefully every move and is ever ready to help when danger threatens.

It is exactly the same way that the outer self is taught and guided; it is allowed to have its own way up to a certain point, when the Higher Self takes charge and directs the action, in order to save time and useless effort. But It very seldom interferes, as Its supreme desire is that the lesson be learned.

YOUR problem is one which many parents are facing these days through the habits created in their lives by the mistakes of the past. There is only one way to rectify your mistakes, and that is to turn to God in a simple, childlike, perfect love and trust, placing your son wholly in His hands, and then proving to Him that you are willing to do whatever He wants you to do.

In the past we have built up so many cross-currents of forces through wrong thinking, speech and action, which return again and again to us either to be fed with more of our life forces or to be redeemed, that until we realize that we must redeem them and bring them back into the Light of God’s Love, there can be no peace, harmony or happiness in our lives.

Of ourselves we cannot do this, but by sincere repentance and by turning to God, He is always ready to help us bring these forces and the ones affected by them back again into harmony, peace and love.
