THE INTERPRETER’S HOUSE

IN THIS Department will be given interpretations of dreams and visions of those needing to know their inner meaning. We reserve for it only those of special interest and helpfulness.

THE COMING TRIBULATIONS

THE OTHER night I had a dream that impressed me so much that I feel I should tell you about it. I was engaged in my duties when I heard some passersby saying, “That’s a bad avalanche that is gathering.” Since we were on level ground I looked around to see what they meant. Now and then some would look up in the skies and repeat the same sentence. I looked up and saw a small dark cloud in an otherwise clear sky. I thought it the beginning of a small cyclone. As I thought about it I felt drawn up close to it, and in its smoky blackness I recognized the outline of Christ’s figure. It was rather a distorted figure and hardly recognizable, but even though I could not see His eyes, I knew He was looking at me. I had no fear of the cloud.

Then I was back home again. I looked up once more and found the cloud had spread all over the sky like a rain cloud, but I still heard it called an avalanche. I began to prepare supplies that would last many days, perhaps months, and was looking for a storage place in the basement where I planned to find shelter with my family when the time came; but this without fear or without telling anyone what I knew. It seemed futile to tell anyone that it was a cyclone gathering, and not an avalanche. Then I awoke.

Your dream is quite significant. The avalanche or cyclone that everyone was expecting was or is that which the world seems to be looking for at this time. At first it seemed a small cloud in the sky of your consciousness, but the more you thought about it the darker and the closer it appeared to you; but even in the darkness you were made aware of Christ’s presence and that He was watching you; and you evidently trusted Him, for you were not afraid.

The only thing for you to do is what you did in your dream, prepare your spiritual supplies and store them in your subconsciousness, so that you will always remember their truths and thus be fully prepared for whatever comes to pass. We are showing you just how to do this and how to apply these truths in the Lessons and in the magazine.

ASTRAL VISITORS

I HAVE been having several unusual dreams. One night after retiring I had been reading from your books and was lying in the dark trying to meditate, when a form in long robes walked from my door to the bedside. I felt a great sense of nervousness or fear and slowly turned my back on this visitor. Since then I have had no more dreams and feel some harm was done since rejecting this friend. I would be glad if you would help me with this.

Your dreams show that you are being wisely and lovingly led and taught, but regret that you turned your back on the visitor in long robes that came to your bedside and who may have been a teacher or helper. The next time anyone comes like that, welcome him as would any stranger and question him as to the reason for his coming and what he wants you to do. And act as natural as if it were someone in the next room, of course being fearless, knowing that your Loving Father is taking care of you. Try to see yourself handling the situation in this way until it becomes natural to do so, and when the next experience of such nature comes, you will be prepared to welcome any visitor unafraid.

WOLFISH THOUGHTS

I HAVE had many inner experiences of different kinds. Sometimes I am helping others, protecting children. Just a few nights ago a pack of wolves were after me and a small boy. One very large wolf kept snapping at me, trying to get hold of me, for I kept the boy behind me. I finally grabbed the wolf by the throat and choked him. Then we seemed to be lifted upon a small platform and when I looked down upon the wolves they had grown or changed into baby wolves, but were still yapping at us. I remember I said to the child, “They are cute little things after all.”

In those inner experiences when you were helping others and protecting the little boy from the pack of wolves, it was symbolical of how you must handle all wolfish thoughts that attack you—must lift your minds your child—above any condition that threatens to harm you, and thus protect your true thoughts against the wolves of doubt, fear, depression, illness and other negative and destructive thoughts, even taking the fiercest of them by the throat and choking out its life.

YOU AND YOUR HUMAN SELF

I DREAM often of walking with someone, a friend who seems to be a young man and he holds my hand, although I never turn to look at him. The other night we were walking down a beautiful drive-way and I looked up and excitedly pointed to a beautiful bouquet of flowers in the sky. He said he could not see them and complained about always having some trouble with his eyes. The flowers were so large they nearly covered the sky and were highly colored, but as I watched them they gradually faded away. I seem to be disappointed in this friend; he does not seem to radiate enough light.

The young man you often dream of as walking with you is your human self, whom you are teaching and showing these marvelous truths of the spirit, but whose human mind cannot fully comprehend all of them as yet. You, of course, in this soul realm of consciousness are the Teacher, and it is from there that you teach the outer mind. See if you do not realize this and recall it now from your dream.
