THE INNER ROOM
CONTAINING quotations from our replies to those writing us for help in their Spiritual problems.
Each day at 12 o’clock noon, we take the names of those asking for such help in the Silence of the Spirit, and “Speak the Word” for them. Many hundreds have testified to receiving the blessings of such ministry.
LOSING FORMER POWERS OF DEMONSTRATION
YOU ASK a number of questions; we will try to answer them and explain why you are up against the difficult situation you describe.
First, it is not different from that of others we know, who when they first came into Truth were able to accomplish many seemingly marvelous things. But later this power left them and with it everything else in the way of material blessings. It seems this is the way Spirit has of inspiring the mind in order to start it on the Spiritual Path. It gives it through a temporary use of its powers a glimpse of the wonders awaiting in the Kingdom; then It seems to withdraw Its guidance and support. This is not so, however, for It is always close by and ready to help when called upon; but It realizes that real understanding and strength have to be gained except by earning them, and until the mind can be made to know that, it must use and do the things it has been taught; not for the results that can be gained so much as to fit itself for the Father’s use. Usually it is allowed to flounder along unassisted until there is aroused a determination to let nothing stand in the way of accomplishment.
Do you see what we mean? You have had plenty of teaching, but for some reason or other you are not able to apply the truths you have learned. Why? Because you do not make yourself do what you are shown to do. Nobody can or dare do that for you, for it is up to you to win your way to mastery over the forces of your lower nature, which alone are holding you back.
These “hidden” forces are nothing sinister nor different from what everyone has to meet and handle. So long as you allow any negative thoughts or feelings to enter your mind and be entertained there, they will surely influence your judgment and hinder your growth. The only way to handle these forces is to refuse them entrance into your consciousness or life. It is all very plainly taught in The Way Out, and anyone who really wants to do so can find in that little book the solution of their problems, no matter what they are.

LEAVING THE BODY
REGARDING leaving the body, we do not teach it or recommend it. In fact we urge students to be concerned about that phenomenon. Only a certain few of the psychic type are apt to have that experience, and to those we explain just what is taking place and thus help them should they ever find themselves seemingly out of or leaving the body
