REGARDING your urge to do something about the national and world situation, does not most of your eager desire to do this come from suggestions put into your mind by radical leaders and by reading radical literature? Are you always sure of its source? The purpose of the most of such literature and of such leaders is propaganda inspired and directed from the inner world by those inimical forces seeking to bring about the destruction of the existing order of things in order to further their own sinister ends.

Not being aware of this and believing these suggestions to be sincere and the inner urge that they inspire to be from a high source, you like many thousands of others follow like sheep the way you are pointed. When the facts, had you taken these suggestions to the Loving Christ within and could still your disturbed mind so you could hear His Voice telling you the truth, you would have had no trouble in learning His Will and Way for you—which is always the way of non-resistance and of “If a man take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.”

But when the mind does not listen to such guidance and allows itself to be influenced by strong feelings aroused by suggestions of such nature, your Christ Self permits you to go ahead and learn from experience that you accomplish none of the things you hoped for by following such leaders and only helped to bring about greater chaos in the world, which is what those sinister forces planned.

You are indeed God’s instrument, but He cannot use you until you have learned to hear and know His Voice and can thus be guided by Him. When you have learned that, you do not “climb up on a bank out of all this chaos and watch others struggle,” but you keep your instrument down in the midst of it all, while you stay above, as it were, in your higher consciousness, wisely guiding your instrument, uninfluenced by the mass thoughts and emotions below and showing it just what the Loving One within wants it to do to help and bless those so sorely needing help. In that way God does work with and through you, and in that way only can you serve Him.

If you are an “actionist,” as is every true servant of God, then you will seek to know and do only what He wants you to do, and not what all these outside influences are continually urging upon you. For God
