place that was calm and still. As I stood watching these people in their mad whirling, they shouted as they passed by, “Come in, its lovely here and so enjoyable, and we are getting along fine.”

Again, as I started to venture out and my feet touched this rushing, roaring water, I became acutely conscious of the fact that where I stood in the center it was quiet and still. And then a voice spoke in my left ear, saying, “Stay where you are, if you want peace and rest.”

Here in the outer world you are living in a mad whirlpool, a world of turmoil, where the mob is hurrying by carried by the strong, almost irresistible current of their desires, emotions and passions, no one knowing where he is going or what it is all about. You can allow yourself to be drawn into that current, or you can stay back in that center where you can watch and see how useless and foolish it is.

Your dream was a wonderful illustration of what is actually seen by one who is able to retire within that center and look out upon the illusions of the outer world of the senses, knowing that only there within the Kingdom of your Soul is indeed to be found peace and rest.
