there will come a time when He as the Higher Self will be a very real Teacher, and will begin to speak in definite words from the Garden of the Heart. Years may pass under such instruction, but when self finally surrenders its sense of separation, the soul is led into the Temple—the Kingdom within—and is taught to abide there, after which it is able to go in and out at will.

During the week of the Presidential campaign I had several visions of President Hoover. There was always a Presence behind him clothed in white and also large American flags. He always looked so peaceful, so serene. I thought it meant victory for him. On the morning of the election I saw him again with the same Presence, and the President was wiping from his hands thistles, cacti, and thorns, so that there was quite a heap of them in front of him. Again he looked so happy. I thought sure it meant victory. The night before I felt a great depression and I seemed urged to pray and work for him. I felt as if I were one of a great many who were working with the Powers of Light. All night long I would awaken and start praying and I could see what looked like a cloud of light spreading over the country slowly as it spread.

The visions you had of President Hoover were no doubt purely symbolic, meaning the President of this country in his real position as such on the soul plane is always inspired as shown and protected by the American Flag, representing the ideals and Spiritual principles which originally inspired the forming of this great country. If you can see this and study your visions, you will find that he is indeed gradually wiping from his hands and from before him all the thistles, cacti and thorns which have hurt and hindered the perfect expression of his office. This was a prevision of what is now actually taking place.

So you can see it was not the real President who was defeated, but only the outer image that has allowed these thorns to come and hurt, hinder and even destroy the ideals that he should have upheld. You were one of a great many who in the Inner Realms were praying and working with the Powers of Light that night.
