THE INTERPRETERS’ HOUSE

IN THIS Department you are invited to send for interpretation any dreams or visions of unusual character, those that made a profound impression on you at the time. Please do not send anything simple or ordinary, for it is desired to explain those only that are either actual experiences on the inner planes of being, or are efforts of the Soul or Higher Self to convey to the outer mind helpful teachings, guidance or warnings of things to happen in the outer.

As our space is limited, only a few interpretations can be given in each issue in the order of receiving. If yours do not appear in an early issue, know that it is either because of the many ahead, or that they are not unusual enough to be worthy of publication.

Those that follow will give you an idea of what to expect.

THE OTHER day while studying the Kingdom of Heaven chapter in the booklet BROTHERHOOD, I found myself in a broad corridor with many doors opening into it. From one appeared a lonely youth dressed in white, with a cape of glistening white lined with the most glorious red. On his very dark hair rested a turban of the color. He was so beautiful and joyous as he led me on. Finally, one of the doors, wider and heavier than the others, swung open, and I stood on the threshold and wandered so much to enter; for I saw this great room contained all knowledge. Scribes were busy at desks, others were studying from long completed manuscripts, and still others were standing before endless shelves, cabinets and receptacles holding and guarding priceless treasures of all the worlds.

In his place stood one in vestments like a priest of the English church, except that he wore his stole over his left shoulder, as I understand a Roman Catholic priest wears his stole when hearing confession. This man was older, very earnest, very kind, but smiling. He did not seem to know that he was my leader, and he seemed far distant, but still I could see my leader, and the way. On we went, the way now rising higher and growing harder, becoming very narrow and steep, although there was no difficulty over which I was not lifted by a power greater than I. And finally I saw the Glory of His Presence—not His Face, but the Light of Him. And at times I see it still—but not so clear.

On the way to the Kingdom within, the human self is like the lovely youth in the vision who leads you up to the door the inner chamber where awaits the Priest, your Spiritual Teacher, who will lead you the rest of the way. The self (the little boy) has to be left behind, and the way is not easy, as you well know. Oh, if you would only consciously find that Leader, stay close to him, and remember where he led you in your vision; how you were helped over your difficulties when you
