THE INTERPRETER’S HOUSE

IN THIS Department will be given interpretations of dreams and visions of those needing to know their inner meaning. We reserve for it only those of special interest and helpfulness.

KARMA

I DREAMED I was a handsome young man. I was dressed as an Oriental and seemed to be a Prince. I was on a mission and was at the head of a large company of soldiers. I left my soldiers and went alone into the mountains. There in a secret place was a tree which, when I pressed a certain branch, revealed an opening where there were vast treasures. As I was about to take the treasure a beautiful girl came and threw her arms about me. I did not feel any love for the girl, but let myself be drawn by her body. We seemed covered with red leaves. When I regained my senses I was terribly disgusted with the girl and threw her away from me. I bound her hand and foot, then taking two bags of the treasure I got on my horse and the girl still bound across my saddle I rode back to my men.

We galloped onto an open plain, and there appeared before me a man with the body of a green snake with the head of a devil. I rode up to him and threw the girl into his arms, saying, “Here, this belongs to you.” The devil did not want her but took her and rode away.

At this I was greatly relieved for I thought I was now free, and with much happiness I rode on until I came to two great mountains. In a pass through these I could see what was my home in a beautiful city. I rode into the city and straight to a palace. There on a small gold throne was a King. I laid the treasure before him with a bow. He seemed pleased, yet looked at me queerly. He took out a large scroll from his breast and unrolled it before me. On it I saw that everything I had done was written. But the thing that stood out with bold letters was my accident with the girl. I felt terribly ashamed and held my hands over my eyes.

What impressed me so about the dream was the marvelous reality of it and the perfect sense of health, vitality and manhood when I am a smallish invalid girl. Do we reincarnate in both sexes?

Your dream is most interesting and was the means taken by your Higher Self to convey to you a great lesson. It was probably intended to show you what the succumbing to the sensations of the flesh finally brings—remorse, disgust, shame, and the sorrow of the King, your True Self.

All our actions are indeed entered on the scroll of Life and some day have to be accounted for and the full penalty paid. It may have been an incident in a past life and it is not strange that you had the body of a man; for the soul in order to gain all experience and knowledge has naturally to learn through the avenue of both sexes.
