it was gone. I telephoned my husband, and I saw him, although at a distance, with his father and mother who are dead, leave in a car to get me, and they picked me up and took me to where the horse had killed itself by running away. The body of the horse and the buggy and harness were one mass of pulp, but the four black feet of the horse were visible and uninjured. We climbed an embankment to reach the place where the horse was, and I was filled with remorse at my carelessness in not tying the horse.

I have studied the Yogi breath control and the transmutation of the sex force. My desire is to be master of all the lower forces and to transmute them. Is this dream significant of any growth toward my ideal.

Regarding your dream, try to realize that the black horse and buggy were but the animal forces of your nature which are no longer needed in the form in which have been superseded by the spiritual understanding that has come to you through these lessons; which are symbolized by your husband’s father and mother, who are in Spirit, coming in an automobile to carry you home. The fact that all that was left of the horse were the four black feet, proves that the understanding gained from the driving and control of the horse, or your lower forces, has been preserved and can now be used in the higher consciousness represented by the automobile. You caught a glimpse of the meaning of the dream from what you state at the end.

ON THURSDAY when I awoke I saw the Master very clearly. He was standing on a large body of water holding an American flag in each hand. The next morning I saw the Master again, and again He was standing on the water. I must have been living on the water, too, for in a few minutes I could see the large black object like the back of an enormous fish emerge from the water right in front of me. I straddled it, and away it swam bearing me to the shore. I was not frightened in the least; it seemed quite the natural thing to do.

These two visions have given me much food for thought, and at the same time much encouragement. To me the American flag symbolizes Freedom, and therefore the first vision I interpreted to mean that if we are constant in our faith, we can do not only what seems impossible, such as standing on the water (figuratively standing on top of life’s disturbing elements), but can attain freedom from any negative conditions that may be around us. The second means practically the same thing; that through faith, when some unexpected and seemingly terrible trouble comes and we think all is lost, help comes with that trouble in an undreamed of way. Have I interpreted these visions correctly?

You have indeed interpreted them correctly. With this added suggestion, however, to get the full meaning of the last: that large black object symbolizing the trouble that you seemingly attracted to you, by your own fear, and yet stepping upon it, made the power to carry you to safety and freedom. Let this be a pointed illustration of the Power that resid’s in you—the Power of Christ, which if you will keep your eyes and mind fixed on Him can enable you to ride any trouble to freedom.
