I SAW a small mound of gold in a pliable state lying on the ground. Beside it a man was kneeling, he held in his hands a bowl which he was placing by the simple process of spreading the gold upon it. Nearby stood another man watching the process.

The strange thing about it is that I had a feeling, it seemed a perfectly natural feeling, of being the things I saw in this dream—the gold, the bowl, the two men.

Started wide awake I was saying: “Why, I am the gold; I am the man who is plating the bowl; I am the man who is looking on.” I cannot describe the sensation. I never would have believed it possible to have such an experience.

Your dream is indeed quite unusual. We will try to give the inner meaning of it. In very truth the gold, the bowl, the other man and yourself are all one, in this way. The gold represents your mind or the pure thoughts with which you are plating the bowl, your human personal self. You, the soul, or real self, are thus trying to make your outer self appear, through right-thinking, even as you are as a soul—formed in the image and likeness of God, gold symbolizing the highest and purest thoughts, God’s thoughts given you. The man who was looking on and inspiring it all is your Divine Self.

So you can see that all are really one, but the one doing it all is the Spiritual You, your Divine Self.

I AM continually dreaming of driving either horses or automobiles up very steep mountains sometimes so very straight up that it seems impossible to go. The last dream I had was of a carriage filled with my relatives. We were on such a mountain, the road was straight up, made of rough cobblestones evenly set in cement, very even on either side, but winding and steep. We stopped when almost at the top to buy some milk for a baby that was with us; we did not go on after buying the milk.

I also dream of snakes very often, sometimes I kill them, but usually they go by me or I see them, but I do not seem to be very afraid of them. Please tell me what these dreams signify in regard to Spiritual unfolding.

Your dream of driving horses or automobiles up a steep mountain is symbolic of your climbing in Spirit, or your earnest striving to reach the spiritual heights. Of course the road is rough, winding and steep.
