countenance I had ever looked upon. I heard the rustle of his garments and knew that HE was standing before me! Again the soul-thrilling voice was speaking, “Peace, brother; be at peace. All is well.”

I opened my eyes and he was again extending his hand, but this time it was a slender hand of child-flesh texture, the form of which would have been the despair of the most accomplished sculptor.

Upon grasping his hand a magnetic thrill ran through my body, banishing my bewilderment and putting me perfectly at ease. I was in full command of all my powers and realized that Mr. Godfrey himself was the Master. I was conscious of a distinct challenge to my reasoning faculties. I would know myself what this was all about.

In the moment, while I had experienced the temporary shock to my senses, either our surroundings had been completely changed or else we had traveled a great distance, because we were no longer in the office but in an oriental garden.

I was convinced that I was the victim of some sort of hypnotic influence, and I began very earnestly to note every feature of my environment. The garden was located upon the shoulder of a towering mountain, overlooking a beautiful valley. Stately trees, flowering shrubs, and velvety lawns greeted the eye in all directions. Gay plumed birds flitted about under girl glad songs unafraid. Nearby some delicately tinted fawns drank from a fountain, while a huge tigress lay sleepily watching the frolic of her young.

But instead of breathing the peace and harmony of my surroundings I was now almost feverish in my eagerness to learn the magic of this Master and to find out by what law he could transform a western city office into an oriental garden, making what must be a mind picture as real as life itself. I was whipping my faculties into the keenest alertness in order to take advantage of every passing moment.
