THE QUEST

By M. B. M.

So strive we all and yearn
For that which in us ever urges
That which we are we blindly lose
In quest afar mid worldly muses.

Stand where thou art, and learn—
The Way of Truth leads not beyond.
Look thou within. The Law goes deep
And ever sounds with plummet straight

The depths wherein must lead thy search.
A spark is struck when Soul is touched,
And, wakened from its sleep of self,
It rises upward the way of Love

Its gaze to fix on the Light above.
Then dost thou see the reason of the urge—
The veil is rent; for self thou hast o’ercome.
Now dost thou know thy dreams and all earth’s teaching
For shadows of what did always speak within.

Bathed in the glory of thy Soul’s awakening,
At one with all that stirred thy quest,
Thy vision cleared, thy promise in the making,
Start thou the Joyous Way that Love hath blessed.
