has since always been and will always be. One must get this truth firmly fixed in mind before one can go farther with us in what follows.

Therefore, when one would go in consciousness to help another, one must KNOW that he can go to him instantly, and will there see his perfect self. The other’s soul or consciousness may at the time be “obsessed” by some idea, thought or concept—that is, influenced by some false or untrue thought or idea about himself. All that you need do then, you who know the truth about that other center of consciousness—is to touch him (touch his soul), thus connecting and uniting the forces of your center of consciousness with his, and thus driving out any obsessing influence. For anyone working from the physical has far greater power than any obsessing force in spirit—if he only knows it.

It is the simple knowing the truth of these things that will enable you to free anyone from an obsessing thought or influence—no matter what it is, and no matter whether you go to him in spirit or in the flesh. But you can see that your real power must be done in spirit—or in consciousness, whatever you say or do in the outer.

If you think this over until you see clearly all of its inner meaning, and will then put it to the proof when occasion calls upon you to help another, you will be amazed at the results, which will be even as that illustrated in the experience described above.
