“Ask and it shall be given unto you,” saith the Lord.

Ask and it will be given. Those things of worth will be given—strength of purpose, of character, of soul. And as the time is ripe within you will you be given signs and knowledge that He Who rules the universe lends an ear to you. For I say unto you, are you not a part of Him who made you? As you live and walk and breathe, are you not a part of the life and breath of God? And as the spirit departs from our body in death can ought be done by human hands to return it to the body?

Ask yourselves these questions, my brethren, and find the answer without your apart from the God who made him.

Lift up your voices in peans of joy, Oh Brethren; for know that you are a part of the Divine Plan of which the turbulent sea, the flower scented breeze and the sun kissed turf are a part! Shout your peans of joy; awaken your souls and attune your ears to the echo of the golden cadences of the hosts of the universe!

What is this thing called the soul? It is the real, the substantial thing, that, God given, is the real man. Ageless, deathless, it goes on forever, fading into pallid hue when the mortal man is bent on those things of evil ilk; glowing with brilliant intensity when the man turns to the things of righteousness and good.

Fear not for that ephemeral thing called the body. As its sacred trust, it is sheltering an immortal soul through its earth span. Call on this soul—this portion of the Great Omnipotence that is within each of you—to help preserve this outer casing; and as you call upon your soul, call also to Him Who gave you Life and Immortality, and in His Name ask that you be led aright, and forget those things of evil and temptation which are constantly intruding themselves into all lives.

Do not judge the Inner Man by the outer shell of him. All men are on the path of Life—the everlasting God-life, climbing towards the Perfection of the Life Eternal. As God sees fit, He places each one at the task that must be done, by which he learns something that expands his consciousness, develops him in soul power, and carries him farther along the path to the heights.
