The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | APRIL 1935
WE WONDER if our scientist friends realize what it is they are being led really to seek in their stratosphere flights, and what it all signifies?
Our readers may get a glimpse of a wonderful truth when we say that everything that man deems as being without himself, such as the air, atmosphere and space, is actually the mind’s mistaken concept of the All-Consciousness of God, in which humanity and all that is live, move and have their being; and which, instead of being without him, is within man’s own consciousness, or within that All-Consciousness of which his mind is a center and a part? Can you make your mind grasp this? Stay with it until it does.
You have just had suggested to you an idea. That idea has no importance to you except when it is presented to you and you take it within and consider it in your own mind. Then consciously or unconsciously you realize it is also within the All-Consciousness. To get to the root or to the inner and true meaning of that idea, you must go in consciousness within it to the center of its being, where you will contact pure consciousness—the Mind of God—the “Cosmic Ray.”
Students of the Mind Articles in this magazine will understand just what that means, and some are able to do this; and when doing it they are doing in consciousness exactly what our scientist friends are trying to do in their outer flights when soaring so high in the atmosphere of the heavens—they are trying to contact a strata of cosmic waves in which exists “radiant energy” that “will revolutionize transportation, communication, even illumination;” although as Dr. Gable admits, “we do not know where this energy comes from or how.”
It is just possible that at a great height, very far above the vibrations of earth, there do exist these “tremendous cosmic waves;” for what exists within has its outer expression. And our scientists may be led thereby to the finding of something that can be contacted and brought down to practical use, something so far superseding electricity as electricity supersedes steam, and steam supersedes man-power. For are we not preparing to enter a New Age, where new powers, new forces, and a new understanding of Nature’s secrets, the outer expression of the Powers of the One Mind, are promised to be uncovered to man’s mind?
