WORKING IN THE INVISIBLE
We intend to show in a series of articles, of which the following is the first, how one can work in spirit to help another in trouble. We trust that these articles will prove of deep interest to many who wish to help their friends and dear ones, and if they will do exactly as is shown herein, untold good will result, and a way of service learned that will be of far more value than anything that could be accomplished in the flesh.—THE EDITOR.
A SHORT time ago my brother, whom I mentioned to you on several occasions, had not been very well. He gave every indication of being on the verge of having another of his convulsions (psychic attacks). Realizing this, I renewed my efforts to see him always surrounded and in the Light. In fact I had the distinct feeling that while my physical body slept Monday night, I spent the evening in my soul body at his bedside protecting him and warding off the force that was responsible for the attack.
In view of this, what occurred at our Group Meeting the following evening takes on perhaps added significance. While meditating I was strongly urged to leave my body. I didn’t like to do this, having heard of the danger of leaving one’s body for fear another entity might enter and possess it. But reasoned that some Elder Brothers of the Spirit, even Christ Himself, must be in the room where so many are gathered together in His Name, and that I would have protection, I finally gave my conscious consent.
I sped to a bed where a young boy (I didn’t see him clearly, but I had the impression he was a young boy) was evidently in the throes of a convulsion. As I hovered over his bed I extended my hand, palm down, and placed it on the sheet under which he was writhing, and he became still almost immediately.
Then the thought came to me of my own brother, and I attempted to hasten to him. Up to now I had been acting automatically, but when I tried consciously to control myself, I was precipitated back into my body consciousness.
Here is the interesting part. The very next day my brother voluntarily went to the doctor he usually calls on whenever he is upset (up to this time he had always refused to go), and by
