crucifixion of self and overcoming of the flesh, resulting in His Resurrection and Ascension, He has become the Living Word, capable of being seen and known by all men who have followed Him, have crucified self, and have overcome the flesh.

All who thus follow Him will learn the meaning of His statement, “At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”

THE HEART

This of course does not mean the physical heart. But just as the physical heart is the central organ that supplies the blood that carries life to all parts of the body, so does the heart symbolize the soul, that inner part of man that is the life or consciousness that supplies the mind of the outer man with all the life, intelligence and power that he has.

Therefore, wherever the heart is mentioned, it usually means the soul, or that inner part of man from which issue the vital things of his life. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he,” means that what one really believes in his soul is what influences his life and makes his outer conditions and affairs what they appear.

The heart is also considered to be the seat of Love in the soul, or the innermost part of the soul’s consciousness.

THE MIND

The mind is the outer extension of the soul’s consciousness, even as the soul is the outer extension of the Spiritual consciousness, and the Spirit the outer extension of God’s Consciousness. And we might add, as the body is the outer extension and expression of the mind’s consciousness.

The body is the outermost or the circumference of consciousness. God is the innermost—the Center. The human mind is the link that connects the brain consciousness of the body first with the soul, and then, as it is drawn inward, through Love’s development of its understanding, gradually with the Christ or Holy Spirit, and then with God.

Thus you can see how by teaching the mind the truth, and training it to keep its consciousness clean of all negative and error
