The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | AUGUST 1934

which he is determined to get the true meaning—until all the truth which gave it birth is uncovered, will not only be amply repaid for so doing, but he will have discovered a power and a source of knowledge within himself that is always available and which will always serve him, when he calls upon it in the way above described.

The logical conclusion then is that when one thus learns the truth about the things, persons and conditions that appear to his outer senses, he will no longer carry in his mind the former thought-pictures of such, but instead will carry in it pictures of the truth he has uncovered—when he will find himself released from the inharmony of mind, body and affairs caused by the untrue thought-pictures.

Thus is proven that great axiom, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Also one will learn that there is an inner world of reality to which one can turn and enter at will, where exists the good, the true and the perfect of all that appears in the outer that is less than these. Ponder on this until you see how it must be so.

NOW WE come to the third statement in the preceding article that we wish you to consider, that “you are a soul and are not your mind, that part of you that thinks it is you; that you as a soul are teaching your mind all that it ever learns of truth, and that from you deep within THE MIND’S CONSCIOUSNESS come all new ideas.”

In the explanations of the two earlier statements you were shown how to go within a thought to the truth that it hides. Most of you who read this think that part of you which reads is you, not knowing it is but your human mind that reads and thinks, and that deep within the mind—if it would but listen—is an intelligence which accepts or rejects, modifies or amplifies what is read for the mind’s delectation. That intelligence
