FANATICISM

MANY in this age believe in fanaticism. Many put considerable trust and confidence in fleshly demonstrations. The WORD tells us that it is the spirit that is born of SPIRIT.

I am inclined to believe, and I say it with kindness, that many who claim the “Baptism of the Holy Ghost” have never been born of the Spirit! When we are born of the Spirit we manifest a loving spirit at all times, and possess patience that is extended unto all men. You might be able to jump and shout, yes, and even speak in some “other tongue,” yet not be born of the SPIRIT.

Now don’t YOU judge me falsely, and say: “Why, he doesn’t believe in the Gift of the Holy Spirit.” Before you pass false judgment upon me, may I inform you that I have received the “Pentecostal Experience,” as many choose to call the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. My whole desire today is to lead my “brethren” out of fanaticism and truly into Christ.

A safe estimate, I am sure, is to say that around 90 per cent of the so-called FULL GOSPEL people do not actually know what to be born of the Spirit of God really means. “By their fruits ye shall know them.” When you are born of the Spirit you love your enemies. Yet if you have a root of bitterness in you against anyone, then you are not born of the Spirit. My advice to you is to repent; do the first works over; let the Spirit of Love rule in all things.—S. T. N.
