THIS question has puzzled us for a great many years, especially my husband, who has known no other trade except the meat business. He has tried to find other work since coming into Truth, being affiliated with a Truth Center here which has strongly denounced meat-eating—but to no avail, and it has caused us no little concern just how to meet the situation.

When we read your article in the August Magazine, we both declared that it was the most satisfactory explanation that we had ever heard on the subject, and there was an answering response to its “truth” within us. Now we are really getting somewhere in trying to make a success of the work which we know how to perform—where we are.

I am sure if these people teaching such things realized the havoc and discontent and finally the “lack” it produces in the minds of meat men, they would hesitate before they speak so strongly and finally against meat-eating. They simply make these people feel that they “are out of the Kingdom,” so to speak, with no chance of getting into it until they give this up entirely.

That would be a drastic and foolhardy thing for any man to do that has a family. More than this, they are saying good is not in meat or anything connected with it, and in the next breath say that God is All-Good and is in everything. This certainly sets up a worrying confusion in many minds, and I am thankful to pass on to others your article which so thoroughly neutralizes this condition.

Also I have on my desk a copy of a magazine issued by one of these movements, stating, as you said they did, that meat-eating tends to stimulate the animal passions. This too is a falsity, for from my own experience, eating meat probably more than the average family, I have found that since my husband and I have turned our attention and desires to spiritual things, those passions, ALL OF THEM, are just naturally consumed or transmuted into higher expression or vibration.

Please believe that this is not a criticism of Truth Movements who believe these things they give out, but only of the untruths they are circulating and which should be annulled. I am still
