to see and believe all things good, and another to know the truth about them—to know that these evil things are creations of men’s minds, and before there can be any change in such conditions they must be erased from men’s minds and in their place they must think and see only good—what the God within them wants them to see and know.

Their closing their eyes to these negative manifestations never will help their brothers or their communities to free themselves from them, but by clearly recognizing them for just what they now show forth, and then surrounding them with the Light of Divine Love and seeing Jesus Christ in the midst of them, they cause the darkness of these conditions to disappear even as darkness must always disappear when the Light of Truth is brought to bear upon it.

In the light of what was stated in the July issue, we call the attention of Workers to the article, THE BATTLE BETWEEN RIGHTEOUSNESS AND EVIL, quoted from The Slayer of Souls, a novel by Robert W. Chambers, published in 1920, that in the form of fiction contains some very clear illustrations of how the Satanic Force is operating in the world, and confirming admirably what we were trying to explain. Everyone who is doing any real thinking must recognize and reckon with this Force, and must counteract it, according to the way he is led from within, or it will cause untold destruction, as is shown in the story.

But those who can see it know that it will not be permitted to accomplish its purpose, for the simple reason that the darkness cannot destroy the light. There is now enough light in men’s minds to prevent it—enough men who know the truth and therefore are now living in the light; and darkness can never blot out the light.

There were times in the history of the world when the darkness accomplished its ends, because of there being then insufficient light in the consciousness of humanity. But the Brothers of Light during the centuries have gradually lifted enough minds of men into Their Light and have blocked forever the possibility of a complete destruction of civilization as before.

Read carefully the article mentioned, and if you can read also the powerful and very interesting story from which it was taken, you will have no doubt of the existence of such a Satanic Force
