The Inner Life

and in a short time that family moved; I have seen His Light filling the office where my husband was working, where there was much greed, envy and coarse thinking (seemingly), and have seen evidences of sympathy and kindness appear afterward.

IN HIS CONSCIOUSNESS
THIS day I seem to be more conscious of my Real Self than before. I sense and partake of His Impersonality, and with it, high in consciousness, watch the actions and reactions of the mind or personal self to conditions, the words of others, etc.; knowing that it is this self that thrashes around in its seeming worries, concerns, emotions. And I seem to wonder, still impersonally, if this self will ever release all such concerns, plans, opinions, etc., and completely surrender itself to me in this life; for I know that I am putting it through such trials and experiences in order to watch the outcome, just to see if my mind will learn the futility of trying to remain and act separate from me, instead of relying on my guidance and loving care.
I find my mind listening carefully for my leading when others are talking, to ascertain whether their words are those of their Higher Self or of their personal self, the latter having been principally in evidence thus far. It is from this consciousness that I am now resting and trying to work, as if from a watch-tower, watching impersonally and waiting. —C. W.

I AM NEVER WHAT APPEARS
BELOVED, it is meet that you who have found and know Me within your hearts now learn to look for and know Me unfailingly in your brothers. Hear then these truths.
I am never what appears! What your human mind sees are but its creations—are what it thinks are some phases of Me. For I am not All in all, and must I not be the real, the perfect of all that is? But in the imperfect forms that you see, you cannot and do not behold Me. For no aspect of Me could outmanifest as your mind sees it.
