Sometimes, even throughout the night, I am conscious of this pain, and find the fear of cancer or pneumonia lurking there. I awaken and find these words always coming seemingly to correct the negation, “Get thee behind me; thou art an offense to me.” And then, “Be still, etc.,” and I am asleep.

Now why should all this be so—when my faith seems so great to me?

In a dim way you see that He is requiring you to prove these teachings, not only in the helping of others, but in the cleansing and perfecting of your human mind, so that when these negative fears and concerns about self creep in He can show to you that because such things have no part in Him or in His Consciousness, they exist in and affect only your human mind.

That mind still thinks itself separate from you and from the One Mind and holds on to its little world of self, thinking to maintain itself in its state of separate existence. But the Loving One within—the Real You, is gradually teaching it the truth, that of itself it is nothing, can do nothing, can have nothing, and it must realize that its false ideas about your life, your body, the conditions around you, are but illusions born of its belief in separateness.
