THE INNER ROOM
IT IS fitting in this Department to make known the fact that many thousands have written to the Sun Center, as is called the healing department of the Sun Publishing Co. work, receiving from it real Spiritual light, help and consolation; and this service is now offered to the readers of The Inner Life.
Please know that it is only about Spiritual problems that you are invited to write us. The work of the Sun Center is to teach the laws of life, enabling each earnest seeker to heal and lift himself out of all conditions of inharmony, disease, lack and limitation. By Spiritual problems are meant those having to do with the Spiritual life and understanding. In our booklets, THE WAY OUT and THE WAY BEYOND, are given very plain and definite instructions how to attain for yourself physical health and financial freedom, and should you write us about such we would only refer you to these booklets.
We each day at 12 o’clock noon, however, take the names of all writing us for help into the Silence of the Spirit and “Speak the Word” for them. Many hundreds have received the blessings of such ministry.
What follows will give you an idea of the kind of questions invited and our answers thereto.
NERVES
YOU ASK if you have jumped that emotional hurdle spoken of. But shall we tell you that it seems not, because of the outer state of your “nerves?”
Have you ever stopped to think what are “nerves?” They are the wires, as it were, connecting your human mind with your soul, or rather with the emotional forces of your soul nature, and because of your continual use and strain on these wires they become weakened and “worn out.” What causes such use of the nerves and their consequent weakening? Why, all of your negative thinking, worrying, pitying yourself and being so concerned about self and your physical strength, fearing you cannot stand the work you are doing. No one could help having wornout nerves who indulges in such wasteful thinking and emotional reactions.
This means that you will have to take yourself in hand and give a thorough study to your own mind and to the destructive thoughts and feelings you are allowing to enter, and which in the past you have entertained and fed without your being aware of the harm they were working in your consciousness and therefore in your body.
“Nerves” are only your soul’s reaction to such destructive forces set in motion by your unwisely yielding to self’s claims for sympathy. When you once recognize this, you will no longer listen to self or its “feelings.” Hard work of itself will never hurt anyone. It is the harmful thoughts you carry around in your mind about your work that weakens you and causes you to feel so tired and “nervous.”
