WE HAVE read with deep regret your letter, showing that you cannot understand the true meaning of what we are giving out in the Magazine, or you would not have written as you did and taken the stand that you do not want further issues of THE INNER LIFE.

You ask why it is that the Editorials and other matter in the Magazine are so different from the teachings in The Impersonal Life. Dear friend, if you can only see it, there is no difference. You must remember that the Magazine is for the general public—for readers in all stages of unfoldment, and we have to explain things in it in such a way that all minds will understand. If you feel that its truths are contradictory to the teachings in The Impersonal Life, let us see.

First, we would have you read carefully again the enclosed pamphlet on Good and Evil, reading particularly what we have marked on pages 4 and 5; and try to do this, dear friend, with open and unprejudiced mind. Because we are just as much concerned, and perhaps more so about the conditions in the world now existing than are you. But we are trying to have all our readers, who can be brought to the true understanding, learn the one and only effective way to counteract and free humanity from the wholly wrong conditions we are now in.

Do you think that can be accomplished by shutting our eyes to these conditions and merely holding in our consciousness that God is All in all, that He is greater and more powerful than these conditions? That might be possible for very powerful minds, but very few Truth students, not to speak of ordinary readers, could do what is necessary to accomplish what you say.

The fact is, God gives us to see these conditions so that by our knowing the truth He can work through us to handle them and cleanse men’s minds from their wrong thinking. Yes, we must stop thinking into these conditions the power we give them by fearing and worrying about them.

You ask, what have we to do with Antichrist, if God is all in all? This much, we must learn to see and know him for just what he is, in order to know how wisely to handle him and his forces—first in our own natures, and then in the natures of men all around us; for these forces are now rampant everywhere in the world.

Can you wisely handle them by shutting your eyes to them and refusing to consider them—when they are such real forces in the world of men’s minds?
