until one has acquired sufficient so that one can give from one’s surplus.

Many thousands of people, among them good church-goers and truth students, are so constituted, by having grown up in the “getting” consciousness, that they are always trying to get, giving as little as possible in return; trying to work everybody they can for things they want without paying for them, if they can possibly help it. This even to getting spiritual help.

Think of it! Fearing to use their substance for their spiritual needs! Do such people ever get anywhere, you ask. Some may seem to do so—for a time; but when the Law begins to work, just watch where they show up in the scales of life.

BUT WHAT is this Law? You have heard it many times, but somehow it has not caught your attention, or has not seemed very important to you, you evidently not recognizing it as a law. Listen to it now, and learn here that it has more to do with your present condition and with true and lasting success than any other truth:

“AS YE GIVE, SO SHALL YE RECEIVE.”

How much have you given in the past—wisely given, from the heart, selflessly, thinking only of helping others in deep need? We do not mean money only, but giving of yourself—your heart’s sympathy and love, putting yourself out, unconcerned how much effort it took to give what was needed?
