AN AMAZING contribution to Lemurian lore comes from California, whence it was sent to me by a valued correspondent, Dr. Henry Hollen, author of CLAIRAUDIENT TRANSMISSION, and the husband of Aura May Hollen, whose inspirational works have excited so deep an interest in America and England.

The contribution referred to is an article published in 1932, by Mr. Edward Lanser, whose permission I have to quote it in full. It deals with the presence in California today of a race said to be of Lemurian origin. Mr. Hollen accompanies the article with no comments as to its bona fides and, personally, I can deal with it only on its face value. Indeed, in the circumstances, I can do no more than quote from it at some length in the hope that some of my readers in California who are aware of the local conditions will be able to cast some light on the subject.

Mr. Lanser, who has kindly given me permission to quote this article, tells us that when en route for Portland on the Shasta Limited he went out to see the sunrise from the observation platform of the express and was captivated by the beauty of Mount Shasta in the morning glory.

“GAZING upon its splendor, I suddenly perceived that the whole southern side of the mountain was ablaze with a strange reddish green light. A flame of light that grew faint, then flared up with renewed brilliance.

My first conjecture was a forest fire, but the total absence of smoke discounted that theory. The light resembled the glow of a Roman candle.
