The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | OCTOBER 1936
We cannot believe that of our all-wise, all-loving and all-powerful Father-God. We prefer to believe that He had a very wise and loving purpose in it all.
THESE are some of the questions that eventually all souls will give to their minds to be answered, inspired to do so by the God-self within—in order that soul and mind may eventually come into the same knowing and thereby into the same consciousness as that of their God-selves, thereby returning like the Prodigal Son to their Father’s home, which seemingly is the great goal of life.
Those of our readers who can see this and who wish to understand fully God’s purpose and the complete answers to the above questions, will find it all explained in The Inner Life Study Course on the Soul above mentioned.
We suggest, however, that only those take up this study who are determined to stay with it until every statement becomes clear, its inner meaning is fully understood, and every one of the above questions is satisfactorily answered. Only thus will all the wondrous truth therein become known and be built into the consciousness, thereby hastening the time when they can assume their God nature, the purpose of their teaching.
But this remember—the only way their true meaning can become known is by listening carefully to the God-self within while reading, as He points out what He wants the mind to accept and know. Former beliefs and all other authority must be laid aside, even what is stated herein, if such does not agree with what He states with His quiet Voice; for His Word must be supreme—the one and only authority.
And how may one know His Word? By the quiet conviction it always brings when heard—when there is no doubt or question as to its truth. That will be His Word for the hearer at that time.
We urge therefore that all learn truly to know His Voice, to make that first in all their study and endeavor. How it may be surely known is taught most clearly in the Impersonal Lessons of the Third Course of the Sun Center Teachings.
