that affect them are what concerns their minds and thereby gets into their consciousness.

Things can happen all around you, greatly affecting, influencing and even terrifying others, but they need not in the least affect you who know and work with this law. Remember, you are pure consciousness or spirit, are not your mind or your body, and that your mind is your servant and you are responsible for what you allow to enter its consciousness.

Watch carefully, therefore, the things that concern your mind—little or big; for they are the things that bring inharmony and trouble into your life. When you discover there is concern about anything, stop right there, note that thing, and say instantly, with all the force at your command—and mean it, “Now, that is not true, because it is not of God. Therefore it has no part in my consciousness or life.”

For if God is the One Consciousness that sees and knows only good and perfect things, then His Consciousness is your consciousness, and what is less than good and perfect has no real existence—is only what man’s mind thinks is so and thereby creates in its consciousness, and is a delusion, a distorted belief of the reality which his mind cannot yet see or accept.

All this is to show you the great importance of bringing your mind to wait upon the Lord within every moment of the day, concerned about nothing, but keeping it fixed upon Him in a simple, childlike, perfect love and trust, KNOWING that He will take care of everything—thus linking your consciousness with His.

By so doing you will see only God, which means only the good and perfect things He will unfold to you in His Consciousness; for in it you will see all things in the outer in their true nature—as God sees them, and what appears to other men to be there is only what they see in their “separate,” ignorant minds, believing it to be so.

Knowing this, you do not let it concern or affect you in any way. You stay above it, always looking down at it, as you do at the people in the slums of your city or at your friends who drink and carouse so foolishly, and who do not know of the day of reckoning that awaits, when they will have to pay for their folly.
