The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | DECEMBER 1934

it seldom hears your quiet voice speaking within, or heeds it when it does hear. The results are, it thinks more often what you want it to think, but what it has been led by other minds to believe; so that it creates or expresses in its body, life and affairs the inharmonies that are now manifesting.

How may it always hear when you speak? By your training, the mind to keep its attention always turned within, thus ever waiting upon you.

How may it know when you speak and when it is not an impression from some other mind? By knowing that when you speak, it feels a quiet but strong impression about a certain fact, or a strange urge to do something, or when with definite words you command its attention and then tell it what you wish it to know or do; these will always be accompanied by an inner sense of peace and confidence that satisfies the mind. If that sense is not felt and there is doubt, uncertainty or concern about what to believe or do, it was not your voice and it should wait until the urge from within compels it to act.

In order that there be no question in your mind as to what qualities, conditions and appearances are best for you or anyone to manifest, we will go to the foundation or source of Truth; so that you may always unfailingly know the truth that will make you free.

That foundation is, “God is All in all.” It is our purpose now to teach you really to know this Greatest of All truths, so that it will hereafter be a part of your sub-consciousness.

Why is this the “Greatest of All Truths?” Because God, being All in all, then He is ALL THERE IS, and unless you can see
